Logitech K780: Switch Devices Without Losing the Number Pad
The K780 pairs with up to three devices but types on one at a time. Its number pad stays built in; the phone and tablet cradle is a stand, not a dock.
The Logitech K780 lets you move typing between a computer, phone and tablet without giving up a number pad. Pair up to three devices, then select the one you want to use. It does not send your typing to all three at once.
That makes its purpose specific: enter figures on the computer, switch to a message on your phone, then switch back using the same keyboard. The built-in cradle holds a mobile device in view, but the wireless connection—not the cradle—carries your keystrokes.
Three keys choose where you type
The white 1, 2 and 3 Easy-Switch keys select paired device channels. Once paired, press the corresponding key to change the typing target. Holding an Easy-Switch key for three seconds instead starts pairing; it is not the normal switching step.

Think of this as sharing a keyboard, not sharing a whole workstation. Selecting another channel does not move files, a display or your mouse to that device. You still need a text field selected on the device receiving the input.
The number pad comes with you
The K780 keeps a dedicated numeric keypad on the right, rather than dropping it to make a smaller mobile keyboard. Its round keys and dual-printed modifier labels are visible in the photos. Those labels help identify different operating-system functions; they do not mean every shortcut behaves identically across devices and apps.

Choose the connection for each device
The included Unifying USB receiver comes pre-paired and is stored under the battery door. It offers a receiver connection for a compatible computer with a suitable USB port. This is a Unifying receiver, not a Logi Bolt receiver.
Bluetooth Smart is the other connection route. Before buying for a phone or tablet, check that the exact device supports a compatible Bluetooth external keyboard. If a particular shortcut or customization feature is essential, verify that separately from basic typing support. The original setup guide dates to 2016; its older OS list is not a promise of support for every current system.
A viewing cradle, not a charging dock
The slot behind the keys props up a phone or tablet. It provides neither charging nor a wired data connection, so you still charge the device separately. A thick case may affect how it sits; the supplier photos do not establish fit for every case.

The exact K780 covered here
This guide covers the Dark Grey/Speckled White, English US QWERTY keyboard, part number 920-008025, listed on Amazon as Speckles. Check the selected layout and variant rather than relying on “K780” alone.

This is a source-based guide, not a hands-on typing or battery test.
