Hercules GS414B PLUS: Will the AGS Yoke Fit Your Instrument?
The GS414B PLUS uses an AGS neck yoke. Separate its standard neck range from the included narrow-neck adapters, then check your instrument’s finish guidance.
The Hercules GS414B PLUS is a neck-support stand, and its included narrow-neck adapters matter more than the “fits guitars” label. Hercules specifies 40–52 mm necks for the standard AGS yoke. The N.I.N.A. adapters thicken its arms for narrow-neck instruments, with a separately stated minimum of 28 mm—not a promise of universal fit.
Before choosing it for your guitar, banjo or mandolin, separate two questions: can the instrument be supported correctly, and does its finish allow this kind of storage? Foam padding does not answer both.
Look at the yoke, not just the instrument category
The Auto Grip System (AGS) holds the instrument at the neck. Hercules’ photos show how that upper support works with padded contact areas lower down; this is not simply a cradle under the guitar’s body.

The manufacturer lists acoustic, classical, electric and bass guitars, but a category name cannot confirm your particular headstock. The close-up below is useful because it shows the actual support area rather than just a guitar standing upright.

A headless instrument, an unusual neck profile or an asymmetric headstock needs model-specific confirmation. Do not assume the AGS yoke will support it correctly because a width falls inside a published number.
What the included N.I.N.A. pair changes
One pair of N.I.N.A. (HA301) adapters is listed with the GS414B PLUS. Hercules describes them as increasing the thickness of the AGS arms for narrow-neck instruments such as banjos and mandolins.
- Standard AGS: the published neck range is 40–52 mm.
- With N.I.N.A.: the manufacturer states a minimum of 28 mm for narrow-neck instruments. That statement does not supply a complete upper limit for this configuration.
These are separate specifications, not a combined 28–52 mm guarantee. The source also does not identify these figures as nut width or give a measurement position here. If you cannot match your instrument to the stated configuration, get confirmation for that model before buying; “under 40 mm” alone is not an adapter-selection rule.

Finish compatibility is a separate decision
Hercules specifies Specially Formulated Foam at the stand’s contact points. Its FAQ also cautions that nitrocellulose lacquer formulas vary too widely to test every one, and directs owners to their instrument’s storage instructions.

For a guitar with a sensitive finish, that limitation matters at both the upper support and the lower contact areas. Do not read “padded” as a guarantee for every finish or indefinite storage. Follow the instrument maker’s guidance; we have not conducted a hands-on fit or finish test.
Choose the GS414B PLUS for its AGS support only after confirming the appropriate neck configuration and your instrument’s storage requirements. The included adapter pair is a specific fit option—not a universal compatibility fix. Check that the selected listing is the GS414B PLUS covered here, rather than transferring these details to a similarly named stand.
