Fellowes 60Cs: Feed in Batches, Pause, Lift to Empty
The Fellowes 60Cs requires hand-fed batches, cooling breaks and a lift-off head for emptying. See whether that workflow fits your paper-disposal job.
The Fellowes 60Cs suits a paper-disposal job you are willing to feed by hand, pause for cooling and finish by lifting off the shredder head to empty the bin. Those three actions matter more to this purchase than the headline sheet count.
The paper pile stays with you
Imagine a pile of papers you have already decided to discard. With the 60Cs, you separate that pile into small batches and present each batch to the opening yourself. Its listed limit is up to 10 sheets per pass, not a tray capacity for leaving a whole stack to run unattended.

The useful distinction is who advances the next batch: you do. If your goal is to load a stack and return later, look for an automatic-feed design instead. Also treat 10 sheets as an upper limit, not a target for every mix of paper; check the supplied instructions for the paper you intend to shred.
A session includes waiting time
The US product sheet lists up to 6 minutes of shredding. Cooling time is less clear: that sheet and the US listing’s bullets say 20 minutes, but the same listing’s description says 30. Follow your unit’s supplied instructions rather than assume a 20-minute restart.
For a pile that outlasts a session, the remaining papers still need somewhere to wait while the machine cools. You might use that break to sort the next group, but the shredder itself is unavailable. If the whole disposal job must be completed in one uninterrupted stretch, a longer continuous-run model is the more relevant type to investigate. We have not measured how many pages this machine finishes in a session.
The bin opens upward

Fellowes specifies a 6-gallon bin with a lift-off head. Emptying therefore involves handling the head as well as the bin; there is no front drawer to pull out while the cutting unit stays in place.
Before buying, consider whether lifting and setting aside that separate head is a task you want to repeat. A shelf immediately above the machine can also get in the way of that movement, even if there is enough room to insert paper. If you want to avoid lifting the head, compare pull-out-bin designs rather than choosing by bin capacity alone.

What the touch sensor does—and does not settle
Fellowes describes SafeSense as stopping shredding when a hand touches the area around the paper opening. It does not change the manual feeding, cooling or emptying arrangements.

Do not use the demonstration photo as an operating instruction. Keep the shredder away from children and pets, and follow the manual supplied with your unit for safe use, emptying and maintenance.
Security-rating caveat: the available product materials disagree about particle size and security classification. This guide does not establish a particular security level. If your purchase requires a confirmed confidentiality rating, do not select this machine on the basis of this guide.
The linked configuration is the Black Fellowes Powershred 60Cs, model 4606001, US 120V, one shredder with bin. It is not the 60MC or the 4606201 international version. Match that model and electrical version when ordering.
