No Room for a Nightstand: Is a Bedside Pocket Enough?
Consider the regular Kikkerland Bedside Pocket if you mainly need somewhere to keep your phone, remote or glasses within reach and your bed can hold its tuck-in flap securely. It adds a hanging pocket, not a tabletop for a drink. If you already have a reachable spot that works, keep it.
Buy it for the things you reach for
The gray OR74 is an open felt pocket. Its simple shape makes sense for a few small, dry belongings you would otherwise leave on the floor or across the room. Check whether you can reach inside comfortably from your usual position without leaning over the edge of the bed.
It will not replace every job a nightstand does. A cup needs a stable surface, and this pocket is not one. If a drink or a bedside lamp is the main thing you need to place, a hanging pocket does not solve that problem.
Check the tuck-in arrangement first
The pocket has a flat rear flap that tucks between the mattress and its supporting frame. The flap needs to stay in place while the pocket hangs outside the bed. Check your actual setup rather than assuming that every mattress and frame combination will hold it securely.
Look for an accessible place to tuck the flap without forcing parts apart. Leave room for the hanging pocket and for getting into and out of bed. Do not remove or alter bed supports to make it fit. If the gap cannot retain the flap, or you cannot check the arrangement safely, skip this option.
No minimum insertion depth or load limit was established in the sources we reviewed. Follow the guidance supplied with the pocket, check that it stays in place, and start with only a few small items. Do not treat a styled photo as proof that your tablet or a stack of belongings will fit or stay secure. We have not established compatibility with adjustable or other moving bed mechanisms.
Choose the regular version
This guide covers one gray Kikkerland OR74, listed as Regular on Amazon. The Large Bedside Pocket is a different version, not an extra item included with this one.
Choose it when small-item access is the missing function and the tuck-in arrangement suits your bed. Otherwise, keep using a suitable nearby surface or another reachable storage spot instead of buying a pocket that cannot do the job.
