Unger Nifty Nabber: A Claw for Litter, a Magnet for Small Pieces

Product guide
Unger Nifty Nabber with green shaft, blue squeeze handle and open black claws
The 36-inch Nifty Nabber combines hand-operated jaws with a small magnet in the head.

Choose between grasping ordinary litter and attracting small magnetic pieces. The 36-inch Unger Nifty Nabber combines both, with different limits.

For scattered wrappers, plastic bottles and loose toys, choose a mechanical claw rather than a magnetic-only pickup tool. The 36-inch Unger Nifty Nabber 92134 offers rubber-tipped jaws for graspable objects and a small head magnet for magnetically responsive pieces. Its main limitation: the jaws must be able to get around the object; the magnet cannot make up for a poor fit.

Match the pickup method to the object

Concept diagram comparing graspable wrappers and balls with small magnetically responsive pieces
Choice diagram, not a product test. Shape matters for the claw; magnetic responsiveness matters for the magnet.

Ordinary litter: a wrapper or plastic bottle needs physical contact, not magnetic attraction. Squeezing the blue handle closes the jaws. That makes the claw the relevant feature for picking up individual loose items on accessible ground, rather than sweeping a whole patch of debris.

A loose toy: look for a shape the two jaws can surround. The ball photo shows why the opening and approach matter. It does not establish a maximum ball size or guarantee a grip on every toy.

A small magnetically responsive piece: the built-in head magnet provides a different kind of contact. It is a supplement to the claw, not a reason to expect every metal object to stick. A magnetic-only tool would not answer the wrapper-and-toy task.

The selection covered here

Choose the 36-inch Nifty Nabber, model 92134, single tool. This is not the 48-inch version or a multipack. The photographed ball, hardware, gloves and extra tools are not included.

The reason to choose this model is the combination of a grasping claw and a small magnetic pickup point. We have not tested grip force, magnet strength or lifting capacity. This guide covers ordinary, nonhazardous loose items—not sharp waste, electrical work or vehicle servicing.
