OXO 12-oz Soap Dispenser: Liquid Soap, Not Foam

Product guide
OXO 12-ounce stainless steel soap dispenser with gray manual pump and clear bottom window
OXO model 13273700: a 12-ounce manual liquid-soap dispenser.

Choose the OXO 12-ounce pump for liquid soap, not foam. See its manual dispensing actions, refill window and MAX fill line before buying.

For ordinary liquid soap at the sink, the OXO 12-ounce Stainless Steel Soap Dispenser is a manual pump—not a foaming or touchless dispenser. Its useful details are a broad press surface, a visible refill window and an opening with a marked fill limit. The important buying choice is the pump type, not just the stainless finish.

Match the refill to the pump

The selected model is 13273700. Its listing specifies liquid soap or lotion, excludes foaming soap and does not recommend hand sanitizer. For this sink setup, choose soap sold for a liquid-soap dispenser; do not assume a refill labeled for a foaming pump is interchangeable.

The 12-ounce capacity belongs to this model. Check the model number as well as the product name when choosing a listing. The stainless exterior also does not mean an all-metal dispenser: OXO lists stainless steel, plastic and silicone among its materials.

Press on the counter—or hold over the pot

For dispensing into your palm or onto a sponge, the broad, soft pump gives you a surface to press while the dispenser sits on the counter. OXO describes the base as non-slip and the spout as angled for directing the soap.

The broad pump is manually pressed. OXO describes the base as non-slip; that is not a guarantee against movement.

For dishwashing, the supplier’s photo shows another option: hold the body over the pot and press the pump with the same hand. That differs from leaving the bottle upright and bringing a sponge to the spout. Both actions still require a manual press; there is no sensor to dispense soap when you move underneath.

The supplier photo shows a second action: holding the dispenser and pumping directly into a pot. Pot and soap are props.

The refill window and fill line do different jobs

The clear window at the bottom lets you see the remaining liquid without opening the dispenser. When it is time to refill, removing the pump exposes the wide opening.

The wide opening gives you access for refilling. The blue liquid shown is not a body-color option.

Inside that opening, the MAX fill line tells you where to stop. Use that mark rather than topping the container up to its rim. The window is for checking what remains; the inside line is for filling.

Use the MAX fill line inside the opening rather than filling to the rim.

That makes this a straightforward choice for a refillable liquid-soap station: visible supply, a marked refill limit and a manually pressed spout. If the result you want is foam or dispensing without touching a pump, this is the wrong pump type—even though the stainless body may look similar to other dispensers.
