Murdle Volume 1: A Gift for a Mystery-Loving Puzzle Fan
October 16, 2026
Choose Murdle: Volume 1 for an adult who enjoys solving logic puzzles, likes murder mysteries, and does not already own it. It puts 100 mysteries into one paperback instead of a boxed game. Skip it if they prefer number-only puzzles or dislike the theme.

Why this book makes sense as a gift
G. T. Karber’s puzzles ask the reader to work through clues and use deduction to solve fictional murders. The appeal is figuring things out, not simply reading a mystery story. That makes it a more personal choice for someone who already likes this kind of puzzle than a generic “gift for anyone.”
The US paperback has 384 pages. It is one book to keep, but not a tiny pocket puzzle pad: it is about 9 inches tall. Choose it for someone happy to sit down with a book, rather than someone specifically asking for a pocket-size travel gift.

Where it may miss the mark
- Difficulty is personal. The publisher describes a range from elementary to impossible. That is not a promise that an experienced solver will find every puzzle challenging.
- The theme matters. This is a collection of murder mysteries, not an abstract number-puzzle book. Do not choose it just because the recipient likes sudoku.
- Check their shelf first. If they already own Volume 1, a duplicate is not a useful gift. There is no need to buy it just to complete a gift bundle.

Choose the right edition
Look for Murdle: Volume 1 by G. T. Karber, paperback. The button above points to that US edition, not an ebook or a different volume. Before ordering, check the selected format, seller, condition, current price, and delivery estimate on Amazon. For a gift, avoid a used copy that may already contain writing.
How we chose it: This is a research-based recommendation using the publisher’s description and the matching Amazon listing. We have not personally tested the puzzles.
