Moving Supplies That Fill the Gaps in Your Packing Kit
Keep sound boxes and a marker that still writes clearly. Add the Bankers Box ten-pack only if its eight-small, two-medium mix fills a real gap. Choose paper for wrapping, markers for extra packers, and Scotch tape for cartons that need sealing. These are separate purchases, not a required moving kit.
Check what you already have
Pull together your boxes, wrapping materials, tape and markers before shopping. Ask your mover what is included, then set aside damaged or unsuitable containers. Match the usable boxes to groups of belongings rather than buying a kit from the room count alone.
Try your marker on the cardboard or labels you plan to use. If the room name is easy to read, keep it. One working marker can be enough for one person; several people packing in different rooms may benefit from their own.
For each remaining gap, note what you need to pack, which container it will go in and what is missing. That makes these four options easier to judge.
More lidded boxes: Bankers Box 8816901
This ten-pack contains eight small boxes and two medium boxes. Lift-off lids are useful when you want to reopen a box before moving day, while handles and printed labeling areas keep carrying and room labeling straightforward.
Choose it when you need a batch of additional boxes and most of that gap calls for small boxes. The fixed mix is its main trade-off: it is a poor match if you mostly need larger containers or just one or two extras. Check the dimensions against awkward items before ordering; ten boxes is not a whole-home quantity estimate.
These boxes assemble without tape, so you do not need to buy Scotch tape to seal their bottoms. Follow the box and mover instructions for transport.
Wrapping material: U-Haul WP, 200 sheets

This ink-free newsprint gives you a clean wrapping supply for everyday dishes and material to fill gaps around properly packed contents. The sheets are approximately 24 by 30 inches.
Choose it when suitable wrapping material is the missing part of your kit. Wrap a few representative items first and use that consumption to estimate your needs; a sheet count cannot tell you how many dishes will travel safely. Delicate pieces may need additional cushioning. Our packing paper and bubble wrap guide covers that choice in more detail.
More labeling tools: Sharpie 38264PP

The chisel tip suits large room names and short contents lists. A four-pack makes sense when several people are packing at once or you expect to use the extras afterward. It is less useful as a replacement for a perfectly good marker when you are packing alone.
Use the same destination-room names throughout the move. Add a short contents note and mark the box you need to open first. Write on your cardboard boxes or suitable labels, not directly on rented containers or furniture; this is permanent ink.
For cartons that need sealing: Scotch 142-6

This pack includes six rolls, each 1.88 inches wide and 800 inches long, with dispensers. It is a practical option when you have conventional cartons to seal and want tape ready to use at several packing spots.
Count only the cartons that actually require tape. If your move uses only the tape-free boxes above, this is not an automatic add-on. For a small top-up, six rolls may leave more spare tape and dispensers than you want. Follow each carton’s sealing instructions rather than assuming one strip suits every load.
Build the shopping list around the missing pieces
If you have enough sound boxes and a readable marker, keep both and buy only the wrapping or sealing supplies you lack. If several people are packing conventional cartons, extra markers and tape can earn their place. If you need more lidded boxes, start with whether the eight-small, two-medium mix fits your belongings.
Choose each item separately. Buying the boxes does not mean you need the other three products.
