K&M 10065: Will Its Open Desk Suit Your Sheet Music?

The K&M 10065 has an open folding desk, not a solid back panel. Separate its 2 kg load limit from the support your sheets or open music book need.

The K&M 10065 has a folding, open-frame paper desk—not a solid back panel. For paper scores or a music book, that distinction matters more than the load rating alone. K&M permits up to 2 kg of sheet music, books, notebooks or manuscripts, but the number does not establish how your pages will sit or turn.

Here is what to check on the black 10065 before choosing it for the music you actually read. We have not tested this stand.

Loose sheets and bound books ask different questions

For loose sheets, look at the backing the open frame provides behind your pages. For a bound score, consider the book opened to the pages you use: does its lower edge have support, and can you reach and turn the pages? Neither the empty product photos nor a weight below 2 kg answers those questions.

This is not a claim that loose sheets or thick books will fail. It is the missing fit information to resolve for your particular score, rather than treating “holds books” as a promise about every binding and page size.

The desk’s lower lip supports the pages; check your own sheets or music book.

What the 2 kg limit does—and does not—mean

The maximum is a loading limit in K&M’s instructions. Stay within it and follow the setup instructions; it is not an invitation to load the stand to its limit in every setting. It does not verify that a thick book stays open, that a page has continuous backing, or that turning pages is comfortable.

A maximum-load weight icon and a separate open-book support icon distinguish the 2 kg limit from back support, lower-edge support and page-turn access.
Two checks, not one: the manufacturer’s load limit does not establish book fit. Abstract editorial icons, not the 10065’s geometry or a fit test.

Set the page angle separately from its height

The desk tilts, while the tube sections adjust the reading height separately. Those controls solve different problems: one changes the angle of the score, the other its position above the floor. Confirm the available adjustment range for your playing position; adjustability alone is not a fit guarantee.

Tube height adjusts separately from the paper desk’s tilt.

The setup still needs suitable ground

K&M calls for level, load-bearing ground and protection from wind and passing people. Keep the spread legs clear of walking routes. A folding desk and an acceptable paper load do not make the stand windproof or remove these placement limits.

Order the stand, not an assumed bundle

The selection here is one black K&M 10065, manufacturer model 10065-000-55, listed on Amazon as 10065.000.55. The desk and stand fold; the 10012 carrying case is optional, not included in this one-stand selection. Check the variant rather than confusing it with the nickel version or an accessory.
